Jean Di Marino
Jean Di Marino is an award-winning broadcaster and writer. She has reported for Deutsche-Welle, CBC, VOA, AuBC TV/Radio and SBS. Her documentary ‘Artisans of Florence’ won a ‘Silver Radio' award in the prestigious New York Festivals competition of 2011.
Jean’s experience is extensive.
In Rome, she reported on the death of Pope John Paul II, the inauguration of Pope Benedict XVI, the subsequent elections of the Prodi and Berlusconi governments and other events for the ABC (Australia) TV and Radio.
She produced video reports on science and technology and sports issues in Italy for various clients.
She filed radio feature reports on Italian culture, which ran on CBC, Deutsche-Welle and other networks.
She has worked in England as a TV news producer for Associated Press Television News and Reuters, and in France as a journalist for EuroNews.
In Australia, she reported for the national broadcaster, AuBC TV News, covering a wide variety of national and regional issues.
Subsequently, she was commissioned by the SBS network, to produce a documentary for their award-winning program, “Insight”.
Jean has degrees in Arts and Law and practised as a solicitor before turning to journalism.
